One policy pays more than a hundred recharges
Outside the cities most bikes, shops and families carry no cover at all, and nobody buys it from a cold call. They buy it from the shopkeeper they already trust. Compare quotes on one screen, take the premium in cash, hand over the policy.
Eight kinds of cover, one login
A withdrawal earns you nine rupees. A two-wheeler policy earns you close to three hundred, and it comes back every year without you chasing it.
Two-wheeler
Third party, own damage and zero depreciation. The easiest first sale — almost every customer already owns one.
Private car
Comprehensive and third-party cover with the usual add-ons. One policy can be worth a full day of counter work.
Health & hospital cash
Individual and family floater cover, plus daily hospital cash plans that start at a few hundred rupees a year.
Term life
Small premium, large sum assured, and the highest first-year commission on the platform. Sold to the earning member.
Personal accident
Cover for drivers, labourers and anyone on the road all day. From about ₹350 a year, so nobody argues about price.
Shop & fire
Stock, fittings and building against fire, burglary and flood. Sell it to the shops on your own street first.
Crop & PMFBY
Enrolment for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the kharif and rabi windows, farmer share collected at your counter.
Travel cover
Baggage, delay and medical cover for a trip. Pairs directly with a ticket booking at the same counter.
Five minutes, start to finish
Nothing to post, no branch to visit, no underwriter to call back. The customer walks out with the policy on their phone.
- Premium collected in cash or UPI at your counter
- Policy PDF on SMS and WhatsApp, and printable
- Commission posted to the wallet you already use
Your commission on this policy: ₹558
Three plans, one screen, no jargon
The app shows what a customer actually decides between — price, cover and what is left out.
- Registration number fills in the make, model and year
- Your commission shown on screen before you issue
- Exclusions written in plain Hindi and English
- Quote saved for seven days if the customer wants to think
- Every policy you have sold searchable by name or mobile
Year three is where it changes
Nothing else at your counter builds a book. Sell ten policies a month and by the third year you are earning on three hundred and sixty of them.
Year one
120 policies at ten a month. You earn on each one once, as you sell it.
120policies earningYear two
120 fresh sales, plus last year’s renewals landing in your app month by month.
240policies earningYear three
Same effort, three times the base. A renewal needs a phone call, not a fresh sale.
360policies earningAssumes ten sales a month and that every policy renews. In practice motor and health renew well, term life renews almost fully, and the reminder call a month before expiry is what makes the difference.
The regulated bit, stated plainly
Insurance is a licensed business. Here is exactly where MehaiPay sits, and where it does not.
Insurance is rolling out district by district alongside that training. It is live in parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh today and opening in new districts every month. Ask us whether your district is open.
Selling insurance, answered
Do I need my own IRDAI licence?
Not a licence of your own. You sell as a point of sales person or specified person attached to MehaiPay’s IRDAI-registered corporate agent or broking partner, and that registration is arranged for you once your KYC and training are done. What you need is a PAN, an Aadhaar and a pass in the prescribed training.
How long does the training take?
Fifteen hours of online modules, which most agents finish across three or four evenings, followed by a short test. It is free, it is in Hindi and English, it runs on the same phone you use for the app, and a retake costs nothing.
When is the commission paid?
Motor, health and other general policies are credited to your wallet within seven working days of the insurer confirming the policy. Life products are credited after the free-look period closes, which is fifteen to thirty days depending on the insurer. Every credit is shown against the policy number in your statement.
What happens when a customer wants to claim?
The claim is between the customer and the insurer. You are not liable for it and you do not settle it. What you do is help — the policy screen carries the insurer’s claim number, the cashless hospital list and the documents needed, and our support desk follows the claim with the insurer on your behalf. Doing this well is what brings the rest of the village to your counter next year.
Can I sell to a customer from another district?
Yes. The customer can live anywhere in India as long as insurance is live on your own agent account. The restriction is on where the selling agent is enabled, not on where the customer lives, and motor policies follow the vehicle’s registration, so an out-of-state RC is fine.
Is insurance available everywhere on the platform?
Not yet. We are opening it district by district so that training and the support desk keep pace with the sales. If it is not live for you, the service shows as coming in your app and you will be told the week it opens. Every other MehaiPay service — AEPS, money transfer, bills — works from day one.
