The ticket counter your town does not have

People still ride twenty kilometres to a town agent or a cyber cafe to book a berth. That booking takes five minutes on your phone. You keep the service charge, the customer keeps the bus fare.

Four things to book

Everything a traveller walks in asking for

One login, one wallet. The customer pays you in cash and the fare goes out of the same balance you use for AEPS and money transfer.

Train tickets

General and tatkal quota on any train in the IRCTC system, booked through an authorised IRCTC agent arrangement.

Bus tickets

State transport corporations and private operators across the country, with seat maps and boarding points.

Domestic flights

Every domestic carrier on one search. Fewer bookings than trains, but the biggest commission of the four.

Hotel rooms

Budget and mid-range hotels in pilgrimage towns, district headquarters and hospital cities.

How it works

Search to printed ticket in four steps

1

Search

From, to and date. Fares, timings and availability come back live from the operator.

2

Pick the seat

Berth, seat or fare class, then passenger names, ages and ID as the operator needs them.

3

Collect the cash

Fare plus your service charge into your drawer. The fare is debited from your wallet.

4

Hand over the ticket

E-ticket on screen, printed if you have a printer, and on the customer’s SMS either way.

If a booking fails after the wallet is debited, the amount is reversed automatically. You never pay for a ticket that was not issued.

The detail

What each product actually allows

Rules differ by operator. These are the ones that matter when a customer is standing in front of you.

What you can book

Sleeper, 3A, 2A, 1A, chair car and second sitting on any station pair. General quota opens sixty days ahead, tatkal a day ahead. Up to six passengers on one PNR, and one of them must carry the photo ID on the journey.

Charges and cancellation

IRCTC adds its own convenience fee to the fare and the customer pays it. Cancellation runs through the app up to four hours before the chart is prepared, with the railway charge deducted from the refund.

After the booking

The ticket, the PNR and the refund

A booking is not finished when the money is taken. It is finished when the customer is on the train with a ticket in hand.

  • E-ticket on screen, on print and on the customer’s SMS
  • PNR and seat status checked from your booking history
  • Cancellation started from the same screen, no phone calls
  • Refund tracked until it reaches the customer
  • Every booking searchable by name, mobile or PNR

Cancellations

When a trip is called off

This is the part that decides whether a customer comes back. Handle it straight and you keep them for years.

Cancel from the app

Open the booking, tap cancel, and the deduction is shown before you confirm. The customer signs nothing and you make no phone calls.

When the money comes back

The refund returns to your wallet — three to seven working days for trains and buses, longer for flights. Pay the customer once it lands.

Failed bookings

If the operator does not issue a ticket, the full amount is reversed automatically, with no cancellation charge deducted.

Cancellation charges belong to the railway, the operator or the airline, not to MehaiPay, and they are deducted before the refund reaches you. Our own terms are in the refund policy.

Questions

Travel booking, answered

Do I need my own IRCTC agent ID?

No. Train bookings are made through an authorised IRCTC agent arrangement that MehaiPay holds, and your bookings sit under it. You do not buy an agent ID, you do not pay an annual IRCTC fee, and there is no separate login to remember.

Can I book tatkal?

Yes, in the normal tatkal window — 10:00 am for AC classes and 11:00 am for sleeper, one day before the journey. Fill the passenger details in advance and keep the wallet funded, because tatkal is decided in the first ninety seconds. Agent bookings are barred in the opening half hour of the general window; that is an IRCTC rule and it applies to every agent in the country.

When does a refund reach the customer?

The operator refunds into your MehaiPay wallet, not into the customer’s bank account, because you paid for the ticket. Trains and buses normally come back in three to seven working days, flights in seven to fifteen. Pay the customer from your drawer once the credit shows in your statement, and not before.

Can I check PNR status and cancel later?

Yes. Every booking stays in your history with live PNR status, chart position and waitlist number. Cancellation is a button on the same screen and shows the deduction first, so you can tell the customer the exact refund before anything is cancelled.

Is there a separate deposit for travel?

No. Travel runs off the same MehaiPay wallet as every other service, with no extra security deposit and no separate top-up. Keep enough balance for a day’s bookings — two train tickets and one flight can cross ₹10,000 quickly.

Is travel live in my district?

Not everywhere yet. Travel is being opened district by district so the support desk can keep up with cancellations and refunds, which is where agents need help most. If it is not live for you, the service shows as coming in your app. Everything else — AEPS, micro ATM, BBPS bills — works from the first day.
